If you have a large wall that you want to disguise or dress up, then you will likely need a lot of material to cover it. However, if you are wise about it, you can accomplish the task without spending out big bucks to do so.
Create Paper Pinwheels These round paper decorations are quite simple to make and it is easy to find directions online. Get together some friends, or your kids and start cutting out and folding paper circles. Before long, you will have more than enough to cover the wall in a fun and funky way.
Use Table Clothes Table clothes can cover a large space on a minimal budget. Better yet, they are not overly expensive. Hang some straight and swag the others to create a very upscale wall covering.
Borrow Mirrors A mirror collage is a great way to dress up a wall, and it can also enhance the lighting of the space. If you can’t afford to buy mirrors to fill the wall, ask others if they have mirrors that you might borrow for the day.
Balloons They come in a wide variety of colors and finishes, so you can create a wall that is kid friendly or one that is very soft and sophisticated for little more than pocket change.
Ribbon Swags Cut long sections of ribbon and tie the ends about a long string. Drape the string from one corner of the wall to the other and – voila! – you have a beautiful wall covering.
Wall Decals They are a bit more expensive, but come in very large sizes, while being reusable. So, choose a decal that you would like to see in your home, and make use of it in more ways than one.
Posters Can’t afford the decals? Look for posters instead. Large maps, images of your favorite band, or just some with sentimental quotes can be wonderful wall coverings, if used correctly.
