Saint Patty´s Day, which falls on March 17th, is an Irish cultural tradition. This day celebrates St Patrick, one of Ireland´s patron saints who ministered Christianity in Ireland. Although this holiday was originally celebrated by people of Irish descent, people of all backgrounds now get together and celebrate this day by drinking, eating, and attending parties. Green Apple Martini
Fill your shaker ¾ full of ice, and then add 2 ounces of vodka, 1 ½ ounces of sour apple liqueur, and 1 ½ teaspoons of lemon juice. Shake for 15 seconds and then strain into cocktail glass and garnish with a green apple slice.
Mojito
Although Mojitos are a Cuban drink, the green mint makes it an appropriate drink for Saint Patty´s Day. To make this drink, place 7 mint leaves and a lime wedge in a glass and crush them with a muddler. Next, add and muddle 2 more lime wedges and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Next, finish the drink with ice, 1 ½ ounces of white rum, and ½ cup of club soda.
Shamrock Sour
This is the festive version of a classic whiskey sour! To make this drink, mix 2 tablespoons of lime juice, ½ tablespoon of lemon juice, ¼ cup of simple syrup, 2 ounces of Irish whiskey, 1 drop of green food coloring, and garnish with a lime wedge.
Green Beer
This is a classic Saint Patty´s Day drink that´s easy and fun for your guests. All you have to do is put a drop or two of green food dye in each glass of beer.
