Celebrating Global Family Day
Global Family Day, which falls on January 1st, is celebrated to convey that Earth is one global family and we should all live in peace together and treat everyone equally. This started in November, 1997, when the United Nation’s General Assembly decided that the first year in the new millennium should be the International Decade for the Culture of Peace and Nonviolence for the Children of the World. Although this was only planning to last till 2010, it is still being practiced every 1st of January. At Life the Place to Be, we have a celebration facility in Westchester where you can celebrate Global Family Day. Here is what you need for the perfect party.
Food
This is the perfect event for a potluck! Encourage everyone to bring their favorite finger food to our holiday party facility in Westchester, such as meatballs, wings, cheese platters, chips and queso, cookies, or whatever they please! This encourages the idea of sharing, which is one of the themes of Global Family Day.
Activities
This is a day to really reflect on how you can share peace and unity throughout the world, so try to plan activities at our celebration facility in Westchester that encourages that. Along with spending the day dancing, eating, and socializing, plan an event that will get people thinking about how they plan to treat others in 2020. Since a lot of people celebrate this day by giving to nonprofit organizations, motivate your guests to bring a donation.

On this day, everyone is family! Along with inviting your closest friends and family to our holiday party facility in Westchester, reach out to people that you don’t know very well. This can include a new neighbor, a coworker that you’ve never talked to, or anyone that you think would enjoy the party!
